It's a bit nostalgic for me since I was a little kid when the originals came out (i'm 26 now). It's a blast playing with buddies and hiking with my GF looking for Pokemon haha.

But it's hilarious seeing so many people out wandering for pokemon.

Can you elaborate on "lure modules"?

Basically, what Lure Modules are items you can use at what are called Pokestops, and its primary purpose is to lure Pokemon to the Pokestops for 30 minutes. However, its secondary effect is that is also lures in fellow players as well, which can make for socializing with people you've never met (or criminal activity, unfortunately). You could even use it as a restaurant owner to lure in potential business, assuming your restaurant is a Pokestop.

Genius idea, actually.

Do these modules cost real money?

I used a lure during my lunch break at work. I can reach three poke stops from my desk. Someone else used a lure at a different one so I had access to two lures for 30 minutes. I caught almost exclusively Zubats...

You can either get them from gameplay of buy via microtransactions in game.

Alright, well played Nintendo. I was about to lose my shit if you said "no, they're free"... Nintendo can't afford to be fucking around and micro payments are a proven winner

Current estimates are 1.6 million dollars per day in revenue, they're looking at a half billlion dollars from this thing over the next year split between them and Google (and Apple to a much lesser extent). Sure it'll taper off over the next few months but it hasn't hit critical mass yet so it could still grow significantly.

Numbers like that make me wonder how many malicious actors are desperately trying to breach Nintendo's servers to inject malware laden Pokemon, and if they'll have the flair to use Koffing if they succeed.

I'm seeing so many basement dwelling nerds outside at all hours, getting their daily recommended amount of sunshine, exercise, and social interaction... And I'm fucking LOVING it!

The other night someone dropped two lures in a park and there was a crowd of about 40 strangers hanging out, laughing, sharing tips. The group was comprised of neck beards, a couple cops, families, and teens, and people on work break. We all had a laugh at how Pokemon is bringing people together.

My dog doesn't even get excited when I ask if he wants to go on a walk anymore.

Great, although inevitable. Wonder how long it will be before we hear of a Tesla Autopilot/Pokémon Go combo fail.
