Manual Transmission Leak

Guys
I've owned many many MT cars (including 7 Toyotas if I count my other FRS) and none has ever leaked fluid. My MT FRS is clearly leaking fluid from the transmission. Right in the middle of the case. There is a seal between two major sections and it appears to be slowly leaking.

Anyone experience this or am I just lucky today. What's the fix? Its still under warranty, I just hate waiting two weeks for my car. I was about to install my headers when I saw this. I just turned over 1k miles.
Should I try torqueing the bolts?

You're best off with letting the dealer fix it under warranty. IIRC the seal between the bell housing and trans is not a wet seal, so it must be leaking from seal in front of the shift linkage. Either way, the trans will have to come out to replace the gasket or reapply a silicone sealant. Unless you just want to drop the trans yourself, id let the dealer do it.

Can you post some pics? I havent heard of any of the MT cars leaking trans fluid, so this is probably an isolated issue. The dealer may decide just to replace the trans. I know dealers can't repair things like synchros and broken gears, but I'm not sure about their capability to fix your issue since it sounds relatively simple.

That's a pretty good leak. It appears to be leaking from somewhere on the on the top side of the trans and then running down the side of the case. Get that sucker to the dealer.

Have the dealer repair it under warranty. It's free, and if it happens again you have documentation to show a trend.

Warranty covered. If im correct, they no longer use gaskets, now just a strong [lol] sealant. Take to dealer and ask them to re-apply the paste.

Did you toss it around hard while it was still cold?

Do/Did you park on a steep uphill?

There is a check valve at the top of that rear extension that releases any positive pressure to keep the seals from weeping. Maybe stuck/dirty? Just a thought.

Take it to the dealer. For sure covered under warranty.

I found it while installing OFH. Didn't install, but OEM is off. Was excited to put on OFH. Bummed to put OEM back. As well PIA.

At least you have the opportunity to fix it before it gets worse. After it's fixed hold off on installing the OFH or tune till you can confirm for a few weeks its totally done

You were correct. Thanks.

Thanks everyone for all the replies.

Without getting into the nitty gritty, I had 2 sensors replaced when the car was new due to rodents chewing the wires. Once I read this reply I carefully followed the oil up the side. I could see the copper crush washer. I stuck my iphone up there and snapped a pic. I could see the oil.... (look carefully below copper washer). (Ill add a pic)

So I tightened it a bit more. Dried it off and I'll look for more once its running.
I feel certain its nothing more than this.
