Tl;dr

TL;DR, short for "too long; didn't read", is an expression used in Internet culture to say that some text being replied to has been ignored or as a signifier for a summary of an online post or news article. It originates in Internet slang, where it is often used in quoted responses to indicate parts of the text …

Is now a good time for a small piece on Short Attention Span?

With Transient attention being as short as five seconds and Selective sustained attention lasting as long as five minutes, Neil Postman in his book, "Amusing Ourselves to Death," suggests attention span of humans is decreasing as use of modern technology, especially television, increases. Internet browsing may have a similar effect because it enables users to move easily from one page to another. Most internet users spend less than one minute on the average website.

However, there is hope and it is called ART (Attention restoration theory) which asserts people can concentrate better after spending time in nature, or even looking at scenes of nature. Natural environments abound with "soft fascinations" which a person can reflect upon in "effortless attention", such as clouds moving across the sky, leaves rustling in a breeze or water bubbling over rocks in a stream. :)

If not for the post count I'd be inclined to think that this is the work of a spam bot. You're not driving a Man in Canada, though.

As a former Graphic Designer let me just say one thing... I wish I could go back in time and help you rectify whatever bad decisions led you to using such disastrous typography in this post. It wasn't the short attention span that got me, but the rage inducing eye violation that you forced upon the world.

It looks just like the little sub articles that used to be in Readers Digest. My apologies to all those that do not have a clue what I just said. The rest of you will know what I mean.

Reader's Digest is when you keep a book near the toilet, right? I think everyone uses their cell phone now.

Defined up front: This is a sincere reply of concern and not sarcastic.

Typography has been changed because "rage" is not healthy, can lead to severe physiological problems like heart attacks, etc.

 May you have a long and healthy life. :)

;) Since typography was changed, here is a copy of the original post for reference:
