Me and my wife we were thinking of moving to Huntsville Alabama, my best friend live there and it says is great cost of living is cheap the houses are cheap comparing were we live now, People are nice and cortious.

We are Latin and young couples below 30s my best friend told me there are barely any racism and people are nice.

Questions

1. how is the insurance on our cars, is it the same on florida? (clean record no ticket neither of us)
2. shopping expenses is it the same?
3. commute and traffic?
any race track close to huntsville or local autox, i saw road atlanta is 4 hours drive no biggy for me
4. How are the people from you perspective?
5. Places to hangout have beers and dance?
6. good companys to work for? if people have suggestions thanks a lot

I was actually born in Huntsville Alabama. I have tons of family there. It's your typically southern town. There are a fair amount of Hispanics there now. There's even Mexican meat markets and shit popping up places.

The people there are really nice and respectfully. Don't ever go to Birmingham though. That's the hood. There's a couple malls and what not to go shopping at. Tennessee is about a 20 minute drive (part of the infamous "dragon" is in Tennessee.) traffic isn't too bad even in rush hour though I'm comparing this to metro Phoenix az rush hour traffic.

Huntsville in general is a huge DoD and government contractor jobs. Red stone Arsenal is there so you have military and NASA. Huntsville Hospital is a nice hospital for your girl to work at.

Beware you might hear "ya'll" a lot do not get sucked into their way of speech please unless you are like me and absolutely do not give a fuck but here's my two cents.
I know a girl who sat in my class back in high school and I used to make fun of her for saying ya'll all the time but that's california boys for you! Anyhow I am sure Alabama is a beautiful place ya'll!

Welcome to Huntsville. Tons of african americans here. Not used to seeing so many african americans here. No hate on blacks. I grew up in dallas and got used to seeing hispanics. Huge dod military contract based city. Yes houses are dirty cheap. Brand new 1500-2000sqft houses start at only 130k. Mortgage is cheap as apt rent. Alot of outdoor activities. Shopping expense is about same. Nashville is 2 hrs, atlanta 3.5hrs, birmingham 1.5hrs. Yes we do have autocross stadium. I plan to take my frs in Aug. Traffic is bad near redstone gates but only in the morning and at evening when they get off. As for insurance, should be cheaper than florida. My insurance dropped when i moved from dallas. Its small quiet town. It used to be lively when they had army school house in redstone arsenal. Army moved all the school house to ft lee, va couple yrs ago. People are nice. Youll see tons of military prior services and retirees.
