That totally changed the direction of the Celica into a complete Honda Integra rival. But they are returning back to WRC in 2017 with a… WRC Yaris?!?! Such a total missed opportunity on the part of the 86. I'm sure Subaru could probably make it AWD turbo, seeing how it share an older version of the WRX chassis.

The GT86 is in competition in the WRC (last I heard), under the RWD classification /category. They have FWD, RWD, and AWD categories.

I also regret selling mine. Toyota really fucked up by not making it RWD, I would have kept it until the day I died if it was. However, for FWD that was a really fun car to drive that I will always be fond of.

Agreed. I think it was the front bumper that really through it off. The mid-refresh front end was so much better.

That's right. I do remember hearing about them moving the engine farther back in the engine bay. I still want an AWD version.

It's still real to me, dammit! :bonk:

The Porsche 918 Spyder won't need it's V8 by then. I just saw that hybrid on the street yesterday. OMG, that car is so gorgeous. Carbon Fibre 2 piece targa top.

Sadly, I couldn't get a good side picture since I was sitting shotgun. That car was drool worthy. Just your everyday shy of 1 million dollar hypercar driving in crappy Chicago traffic.

Is that a facelift GS-R? That's one fine car.

JDM Integra Type R DC2 driven by GanSan in Takasu winding course 2001 - YouTube

Yep, it has the revised front and rear bumpers and lights. I live in California so you still see integras occasionally driving around, but finding a stock GSR is very rare around here. When I saw that it was being sold by the original owner for 4k I had to buy it. I'm still trying to think of ways to keep both the integra and FRS. It's hard trying to justify having 2 sporty coupes to my wife who doesn't know anything about cars. I will probably end up having to sell it, but I really don't want to...

That video you posted is great. Considering how good the GSR is from the factory, I can only imagine how fun a Type R is to drive. I've actually considered selling my FRS and GSR and buying an ITR, but the prices on clean ITRs these days is outrageous, and I'm sure it would eventually get stolen. The FRS is obviously the better car, but I continue to be impressed by the GSR considering it was first made in 1994.

Yea back when Honda had a 4 year cycle for all of their models aside for the NSX (15 years), this generation of Integra had a 7 year run. I guess it was just that good.

Keep the GSR and enjoy the heck out of it. I was one of those guys that wanted a clean GSR as well but the prices they command and theft rate especially here in SoCal not worth it.
