Amp Location?

I've been reading thread after thread, and a lot of people mount their amp under their trunk. I'd really rather not do that.

I was thinking possibly under the passenger seat? Or under the rear Deck? I saw one person with 3 amps under the rear Deck, but they custom built an amp rack. WAY out of my league!

So, possible under the seat or under the rear deck without a rack? Or somewhere else I'm not thinking?

I'm sure it'll be a class D amp.

Thank you!

Maybe I've misread your post but have you ruled out mounting your new amp in place of the stock amp (assuming size is similar)?

No, I haven't. Now that I found the stock amp, that's probably the best place to put it. I didn't realize there was that much room, I thought it'd hinder getting the spare out.

Hopefully your new amp fits! I always worry about ventilation, though.

I have my amp, DSP, and CAP mounted directly to the bottom of the rear deck. They are not pretty but functional and well ventilated

The nice part is its easy to hide wiring, and if you don't look for them you don't see them until night and the lights are glowing.

I'm pretty nervous, never done any of this.

My amp is mounted upside down in the trunk below the rear deck. You can't even tell it's there unless you look.

just wanted to chime in really quick

i mounted my alpine pdx v9 5ch amp under my passenger seat. it just clears. had to add a piece of acrylic on top of it to guide some seat wiring around the amp so it didn't catch. every time the seat moves.

there wasn't enough space where the oem amp was, and i wasn't happy with the idea of ditching the spare.
