Thompson Speedway
Very track-specific question...at the end of the main straight, I find myself between 2nd and 3rd gear for turn #1...very flat until by the time I'm exiting #2, I'm finally back in the power band and pulling hard for #3...any recommendations? I feel like I have at least a second or two to gain per lap depending on what gear I'm in... Turn #4 is a second gear corner, but everything else seems like it's best in 3rd gear...what about #1?

Might get an answer over here! http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...38926&page=289

Was there a specific post you were referring to ? No offense, but I'm not going to read through ~300 pages of posts of general track questions for an answer to this...lol.

Nah haha, I was just implying some users may be more active on a thread directed specifically for tracking!

I was there for the first time on tuesday with scda. I was using second fwiw
|
I would usually stay in 2nd and shift into 3rd at the exit of turn 2 and stay in 3rd until turn 4. Obviously this depends on your power and handling setup.
|
Hmm, I'll give second a try next time, but it seemed like it was out of the useful range. We'll see what happens. :)

It looks like I was short shifting before turn 2 after playing with different spots. This was my first time there and the shakedown for the cage. Mostly stock with 4-pots and race pads and mediocre tires. Skip to 4:00 when I get around the Camaro.
