I picked up my BRZ March 20th 2013, and actually paid about $1,000 below invoice for my limited WITH rear diffuser, Homelink Mirror, and Chrome fender deals.

Woot.

Great thread. I put the numbers in Excel to plot and found some of the totals are a bit high (wrong numbers being summed). The FRS ALL numbers for 2013 should read:
Jan 2013: 12860
Feb 2013: 14229
Mar 2013: 16057
If you take differences with these you get the monthly numbers. So 16K FRS sold so far, not 20K. The BRZ ALL numbers look ok. Thanks for keeping this post going.

Thanks for catching that. I was adding the YTD each month instead of adding the month by month.

I'm happy to say after almost a year of patience, saving, and internal struggles with my rational side, I contributed to those March numbers with a Firestorm FR-S of my own

I ordered one last summer, then thought better of it and cancelled my deposit. It was an impulsive, irresponsible deal I was rushing into.

I lasted longer than I thought I would haha. Then on an whim I went this March to take another test drive, and long story short, I gave into temptation.

BEST. DECISION. EVER?

I doubt the VIP program is really driving any additional sales. I'm sure the larger figures are due to greater availability.

It is great to see them moving a good number of these vehicles. Hopefully it will encourage some other automakers to jump on board with their own offerings. I'd love to see additional choices in the affordable sports car segment....

Looking forward to April's figures.

April 13 added. This concludes the first calendar year of sales! Overall coined they sold 24,430 FR-S and BRZ combined. That seems like a nice healthy number.

Pretty healthy but I was hoping for more. In 2012, globally, Chevy sold 25,289 Volts. Yup, the Volt outsold the Twins.

These are truly depressing times. But in light of these depressing times and the fact that their are other great sporty options for $25k, I will revert back to viewing 24k units for the twins globally as a healthy number.

Why are you comparing global sales of the Volt vs. US sales of the twins?

I was comparing global sales of twins to global sales of volts.

And why? Because these cars couldn't be more different so it's interesting to compare to something so radically different.

I stand corrected. Then those are strong figures after all.

Only 3 years did the Miata surpass those figures (according to WIKI) so this looks promising.
