P0198?
Just popped P0198 and the car is now feeling sluggish. I've been searching but haven't been able to find anything to helpful.
Any ideas on what needs to happen. The car is running a c38 KW kit with a complete exhaust. Normal pullies and no other real engine mods. No other codes present and haven't ever had any codes in the past |

As above its an oil temp sender fault code. oil temp sender is at front/top of motor near drive belts. Check the SC belt has not damaged sensor or wiring or the wiring has not been connected to sensor properly. else could be sensor, but more likely wiring worn/cut/shorted to earth.

It could also mean your sensor is actually working perfectly and the oil is to hot. The actual code is for hot oil after all.

It's on constantly though, even after I clear it with the car cooled and I start the vehicle it's still there

If I were to have ran on that code witha turbo kit for a pull or two wouldnthat cause a blown head gasket? Hypothetically of course.

The code usually indicates a sensor or wiring fault, description is sensor circuit high volts\signal. I don't believe its actually indicating high I'll temp If the code is permanent is you clear it and it immediately returns with engine cold then it's a sensor wiring fault |
Yeah if the code comes back the first time you turn the key on (without even starting engine), then it is electrical (dead sensor, wiring issue or ECM).
