My door check is broken (driver side)...

There was some guy that let his door blow open that had it break but I think that was the only case I ever read about the problem.
What happened that it broke?

My car is fine.

Did it get pushed hard or leaned on or something? The pressure required to break that would be substantial.

hmmmm........you might try unscrewing the bolt, snug the broken piece up in place, put a star lock washer on both sides and tighten it down ....... and hope the door doesn't get swung open that hard again.
