We've got 86 event- PDX pre meet

I am just starting a thread to get the conversation going. I will work out the details on my next day off from work. Lets bring as many enthusiasts as possible!

m.box.design 06-24-2016 08:24 PM

Same meet up spot we've done for the last 2 PNW meets.

Ammunition 06-25-2016 01:15 AM

What is the proposed meet/roll out time? I know the meet is earlier this year than last.

Google maps says it'll be about 2 hours without traffic. So we'll probably have to anticipate that.

Ragua007 06-27-2016 09:54 PM

Any updates on this? Curious if we're going straight to The Ridge or meeting somewhere close beforehand, like last year.

I will have an update tonight. We are going to meet at the same spot as last year and convoy up to the ridge.

bboybillaberFRS 06-28-2016 03:15 PM

Just letting you know if you dont know already but there is no pre-meet up like last year where it was Oregon and Washington then go to the meet. its a just get to the ridge and just get there. that way there is less complication. and it flows a little better. just giving a heads up.

I got this. Only a few more hours and the details for pdx/southern Oregonians will be out.

Thanks for organizing this, Jonesy!

nice! I should be able to make this one!

Ultramaroon 07-02-2016 11:18 PM

@Jonesy86 for prez.

m.box.design 07-03-2016 01:44 AM

im going for sure. however, i'd like to say, keep the cruise civil, as we don't want Brandon Lorenz 2.0.

You mean like no harassing phonecalls from daddy's office?

m.box.design 07-03-2016 03:35 AM

i mean like, people causing accidents cause they're too cool.

Ammunition 07-03-2016 01:20 PM

Sorry I don't think I was clear - what time are we meeting at the pre-meet location before driving up North? 7:00am, etc?

Ultramaroon 07-03-2016 03:20 PM

Hey, everybody. I just got off of the phone with @Jonesy86. He got slammed with work emergencies so I'll fill in some of the more vital deets.

We'll meet up at the Gee Creek rest stop at 5:30 am for a prompt 6:00 am departure.

A regroup location near out final destination is TBD. This will give everyone a chance to roll casually and make pit stops as needed.

We're shooting for an 8:30 arrival at the Ridge.

I would suggest just staying on topic to your premeet. No need to bring up other issues. Save that for the off topic section. Thank you.

TheDrkNite 07-04-2016 11:50 AM

Not to thread jack, but me and @Catwoman are headed up early Saturday morning to enjoy Seattle the day before. Send a pm if interested.

*sorry about the divergence, continue with your premeet. See you all at the show

Nothing is prompt for me at 530am but I'll see if I can put autopilot on and not fall asleep watching Harry Potter.

Amen to this. I know it's necessary so we can get there on time - but damn - I will be a zombie.

Aztec 07-04-2016 08:24 PM

God damn that's early, but I will plan to be there as well. Let's do this!

Whoever is leading the group out from the rest stop, let's try and go slow when getting on the interstate as to not leave the rest in the dust. *wink wink* @Decay107

I know. I'm probably the most not-a-morning person ever. We just gotta nut up and take it for the team.

wrohdejr 07-05-2016 03:44 AM

I know it's early but i did this a few weeks back when i had to be at IFO in Seattle by 9am. I left portland at 4:30 best thing is no one is on the road that early so you don't really have to speed to make good time.

m.box.design 07-05-2016 02:31 PM

We were a bit fortunate last year as traffic congested right before we drove past the only radar cop along the way. Everyone was doing at least 80 average

Got used to being a night owl in my professional musician days. Most creative at 1am.

I've got 2 canopy tents that I could bring. However my car is going to be full of passengers. If anyone wants to transport them, let me know! You can use one of them for the day

First off, how are you fitting passengers in your car? haha
Second, if the canopies fit in the back seat and you are not too far away from me, I could take them.

PitViper 07-09-2016 12:50 PM

I will also have plenty of room to take items. PM me if you need me to stop my to pick it up.

My rear seat passengers are my young children, which don't need leg room yet.. I'm out in Gresham between hwy 26 and Kane/Orient.

Ok cool. I'm out in Troutdale so that works for me. I can swing by today and pick them up. They do fit in the back seat correct? text me at 503-709-1362.

Decay107 07-09-2016 03:49 PM

I just set an alarm for 0400 :suicide:

I am truly surprised that there wasn't a popup on my phone asking "Are you sure?"

Looking at Google Maps and this rest stop makes no sense... I'll have to go past it and double back south to get to it in the morning - and when we leave we'll have to go south and then double back north? .... unless I'm missing something here? :bonk::bonk::bonk:

Annnnndd.... never mind - I scoured the map and manually found another Gee Creek rest stop that is on the North Bound side (I assume that's the right one). Buyer-beware - don't let Google Maps find you the wrong one and send you in circles. WTF Google.

On Google Maps it's listed as WSDOT - Gee Creek Safety Rest Area, North Bound, Interstate 5, Ridgefield, WA 98642

I remember people did that last year too.

wrohdejr 07-10-2016 12:04 AM

Yes it is exit 11 going north bound i-5. The exit has a split right after it stay to the left. other wise it will take you to battleground/ridgefield.

Decay107 07-10-2016 01:31 AM

I overshot last year

PitViper 07-10-2016 09:11 AM

Parking is limited at the meet point so take the first spot you can find.
