Server outage news?
The entire ft86club site was offline for about a day and a half with no warning, and I couldn't find any news of what was going on, not even on facebook or twitter, no emails in my inbox. So first question is what happened, and second is there a place where we can get official site news if the site goes down?
*edit* I meant to post this in Site Announcements / Questions / Issues forum |

Well, yeah. I mean what happens if FT86club officially crashes with no backup. What happens to my post counts and "thanks"???? |
This is a joke right? We are not entitled to this forum being up 24/7. It is up normally thanks to the people who pay for it (sponsors included) and the people who take the time to maintain it.
They don't need to notify us that it is down. This reeks of entitlement. |

Mind you the loss of all the info would indeed really suck. All the guys that love to say "SEARCH NOOB" won't have any response to questions. |

Don't thank this post lol. |
I used to pay to be on the s2000 forum... So, thank you to all that make ft86 free, fun, and functional!!!

The heck with all of the useful information... we MUST make sure the meme thread is backed up and continually available...

GOOD, you better! Thanks man, make sure they're Kleenex, not that generic crap. Very gracious on shipping, at least I don't have to paypal you anything as a "gift." You too, genuinely. What are you up to this weekend? |

Second I totally disagree with much of your first statement and all of you second snarky response. I have been on many purely technical forums and it is almost a waste of time. There are always the same small handful of responders and without participation by others there is no debate and no way to tell if their answers are correct or full of shit. People participate in forums for many reasons not just the passing back and forth of technical info. If somebody is here for the social aspects and actually care about such stats as thanks (for the record I really don't care how many I have) they have every right to be here. The very fact that this forum has so many active people is what makes it so great and like it or not that activity involves much more than just tech. If you don't think the "point" of the forum is interaction between PEOPLE then stick to the tech threads and let those that enjoy the interaction be. |
