I bought what was advertised as a mostly complete FBM Stage 1 turbo kit. Unfortunately, that is not the case. FBM says that it isn't their's. After scouring the FI pages for hours I still havent found any answers. Any help would be very appreciated.

Looks like some home brewed kit

Yeah that looks like a parts kit to me. What's the turbo? Any markings on it?

tofurun 06-21-2016 12:11 AM

Garrett turbo. That black piping with the orange inside of it looks to me like ETS piping. looks like a backyard/ebay special to me. Nothing looks like it matches. rlly hope u didnt give over 400$ for that.

Looks like shit and where is the rest of the kit?

Ebay bullshit

I know the turbo is a Garret. I was told it was a 2860 with v-band housing. I do have more of the intercooler kit, I just didn't post pics. The flex fuel kit it came with appears intact, and the oil cooling kit. I am so confused. Looks like I might have to press charges.

GsxrMe 06-21-2016 08:49 AM

Return it asap.

robotichobo 06-21-2016 09:12 AM

The turbo says a/r 60 m24 garrett on the side. Is it worth just trying to sell the turbo and keep the flex fuel kit?

GsxrMe 06-21-2016 09:24 AM

Before making any decisions. Google how to tell if it's a Chinese knock off and a real Garrett. The cast markings are different. As far as the flex fuel, find out who's flex kit it is. I'd send it to them to have them check it out to make sure it's working correctly, even if it costs you a few bucks.

At this point if returning isn't an option I'm sure some of our awesome turbo kit manufacturers should be able to help you out with fitting that turbo. New housings will more than likely need to be purchased.

The ft86 community is great.

Thanks! This is why I love this forum!

definitely a UTK

robotichobo 06-22-2016 11:34 AM

UTK?

Did some more digging. Looks like the Garret Turbo is real. Also it looks like the Zeitronix ethanol analyzer is legit. How much could I sell the turbo for if I can't get a refund?
