FRS Owners Near Atlanta, Duluth, Alpharetta Area
I was wondering if I could get your opinion on how my car drives. I'm new to owning an FRS, and this is my first manual. Sometimes there's a clunk when I shift gears even though my clutch is fully depressed. This worries me a bit because the car is fairly new. It is a 2014, but it only has 13k miles on it.
Also I would just like to have your opinion or technique on how to smooth out the car. I am having trouble smoothing out the transitions from stop to start, 1-2, and 2-3. |

These trannys make all sorts of noises. It is a direct shift to the gears not a bunch of cables like a FWD. You get used to it. As far as the shifts go just practice. The clutch has a sort of weird catch point that takes some getting used to. |
Thanks for the 86ATL thread!

Congrats! I'm in midtown Atlanta with a WR Blue BRZ, which is also my first manual car and it has been fantastic. But still I truly hope this car would have hill start assist. Yea yea skillful drivers don't care etc etc. But getting stuck in traffic on a long uphill (common here...) really isn't the best experience for a new guy.
Change the old OEM transmission fluid may improve the shifting feeling quite a lot. It's safe to bet that the previous owner never changed it throughout thr 13k miles, as the owners manual says you don't need to.
