I'm assuming S is the limited? So based on those numbers, the MT is 26.4k and AT is 26.9k (US) before destination is added probably. We should be hearing soon from SoA on official pricing then by the end of this month finally.

Yes the last digit on the chassis code denotes the trim. 7 means R type which corresponds to our Premium, 8 means S type equivalent to our Limited / Sport-tech, they also have 6 that stands for RA barebone trim. I guess the new GT / performance package could be a 9.

Like my chassis code is ZC6BYE8; ZC6 being a Subaru BRZ, B means 2nd model year aka 2014, YE means North America, 8 means Limited / Sport-tech trim. The sticker is on my passenger side below the door striker.

Happy that we still have the R Customize Package. This means that the barebone trim will exist in Japan.

I keep this one and you can take the fat chicks. :)

My heart broke when I saw the torque graph still showing the torque dip in the attached picture....

By the way, The 2016 "S" model, which was the top model, is listed at Yen 2,926,800

http://www.subaru.jp/brz/brz/grade/s.html

It sits between the 2017 "S" model which comes in at Yen 2,750,000 and the 2017 top model "GT" which equipped with Brembo brakes and Sachs dampers at Yen 3,070,000.

The new "S" model is better equipped compared to the old "S" model. That means the 2017 MY is cheaper than 2016 MY in Japan.

If I were in the Japanese market however, I would choose the GT in a heartbeat because of very minimal price difference between the 2016 "S" and the 2017 GT.

All in all, very good pricing strategy!!

Roughly 30k for the performance package then?

Hey, good catch!

If they could get rid of the dip, then it means that it was in the first place a design fault. It is clear to me that it was not a fault. They'll just try to fool you a bit with the changed FD and a few other things, but nothing more.

They did such a good job copying the 987 Cayman down to the torque dip yea!!

Now we get their Sports Chrono pack without the dash wart.

the info screen is very neat, would be perfect if it shows navigation map.

What's this picture from that link? Looks kinda like the new BRZ headlight but it's clearly a different shape.

Also, looks like the claim of "improved mid-range power" does not mean they fixed the torque dip. :)

Technically they could improve it by 2-3 hp or ft-lbs and make those claims. They never said "noticeable improved mid-range power" :(
