Steering wheel shake?
Ever since lowering and installing new spacers I get a shake in my steering wheel when I get going fast? Is that normal or did I fuck something up?

Did you get an alignment done?

Take off the spacers and try it driving at highway speed. If the problem is fixed, then it's the spacers. If not, you could have missed tighting down something.

Here are a few suggestions from a Google search:
Sometimes wheel weights get knocked off or lost when pulling wheels on/off the car. If the wheels were out of balance the spacers would magnify the effect. Its possible that the wheels didn't seat correctly on the hubs. Did you lower the car to the ground before torquing the wheels? I have had better luck torquing the lugs before putting substantial weight on the wheel (i.e. lowering the car more than was necessary to keep the wheel from turning). Forget the hubcentric ring on install. Although there will be great answers in here, when something like this comes up the first thing to do is go to a search and put in your exact problem...."Steering wheel shake after spacers" and most likely you'll find every possible fix for this. |
