very nice. i like how these are very elegant, with the subtle exterior and the light brown interior.

turtlefeeder 06-13-2016 10:39 PM

Unfortunately the only one they had.

I have a MT and previously owned the AT.

Remember this: You will never shift the manual as fast as the AT when you slap that flappy paddle. From a 5mph roll, AT is actually .10 seconds faster than the manual to 1/4mile.

The only reason you get the manual now a days is if you really feel "connected" to the car by rowing your own gears, and thats very subjective ( I sure don't feel anymore connected with the MT than the AT)

Well, tbqh,if you are driving around in NYC,I don't think anyone would be feeling that connected to the car in the traffic you guys get,but let's not start this argument again(even though I was the one that kind of brought it up).

I do like the color of the car's interior, and though I don't like lighter colored cars, the exterior color isn't that bad either. Most of all, those stock wheels are a million times better than the standard stock wheels. The only thing that could've been better is better taillights.

Man that color and interior is gorgeous. My bank account would be in trouble if they offered this setup for the BRZ!

Something tells me Subaru has something Yellow up their sleeves.

Rear-View-Mirror 06-14-2016 02:25 PM

I actually prefer a manual for the reasons stated above. I feel more connected to the car and I grew up rowing the gears for years. But... this is the only one they had on the lot so I jumped on it. Since only 1000 were produced you shouldn't be seeing too many of them.

I didn't plan on buying one. I had a 2013 Tacoma TRD OR that I built up and a friend of mine kept begging me to sell it. He finally came up with the right price. The truck was due to be paid off in Oct so I ended up with enough money to pay off the truck (which I owed very little) and buy the FRS outright with cash. It is actually my wife's car.

I'm now looking at a Jaguar F Type R AWD to keep me occupied for the next couple of years before moving back to a truck when we move to Colorado in a few years.

looks good! i really want to see one in person, i think that exterior color is cool, but i want to see it with my eyes rather than the internet haha. i'm still iffy on that interior color, but again, i need to see it in person. it might help if the silver trim pieces came as the oem black pieces though. either way, congrats on the purchase, whether it's manual or not haha.

I can tell you for certain that the interior is beautiful and well done. But I do understand the desire to see one in person.

All else meh.

Congratz though! I'm jelly! I want those wheels so bad but $400/wheel... ;(

Know what the panels below the front of the doors are for?

Did you check to see the when you open the hood? How come for the extra seats and door pads being contrasting color, they forgot the rear seats. They should have taken the GT86 contrasting color.

I don't understand for the extra effort on the contrasting inside trim, they couldn't get the rear seats. I have a 10 Series, and would like to have had contrasting trim.

My "personal" opinion is that it would be too much. To me, there is just the right amount of contrast on the interior. If they did the back seats (as shown in your pictures) it would be too much. Lets face it... The back seats are pretty much unusable so no need to accentuate something that is rarely (if ever) used. JMO

Those aren't panels. It's where the water had dripped down and created a stain. Just haven't cleaned it off yet.

Windows tinted today

Looks good! I was about to pull one if only the dealer agreed to work with me on the price haha. But it all ended up good either way, I got my 2016 Halo. Congrats and welcome to the club bro!

Thank you :)

Yeah... They didn't knock any off of the price of this one. I suppose since there is only 1000 they can sell it for sticker?

But... I sold this to a buddy and it more than paid for the FRS with cash left over.

I just ordered a White Jaguar F Type R AWD with Carbon Ceramic Brakes today. It should be here in about a month since it is a special order.

Classy car for a classy neighborhood :w00t:

Rear-View-Mirror 06-24-2016 01:28 AM

Windshield tinted. I know... Illegal as hell but it's 50% so visibility is fine. Looks darker than it actually is since the other windows are 15%

Cool thing about this photo is it was shot with a 10 stop ND filter at 40sec exposure. My daughter was walking around the car while the shot was in progress. Completely made her disappear.

Some of my camera equipment I use.

I use Adobe Lightroom to postprocess all my pictures. Not to be confused with Photoshop. I take all my pictures in RAW so I can get the most information out of them and adjust accordingly.

Nikon D7100 with filters added (might upgrade to a full frame camera in the future)

10 Stop filter. Allows for long exposures during the day time

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psjbcupm8k.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psal3dg9pv.jpg

Graduated Filters in place

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps5jpqr1g3.jpg

Slider I use for video. Keeps the camera completely stable a the slider actually doubles in length with the included carbon fiber bars

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psqxgd6bbc.jpg

And my drone. DJI Inspire 1 v2.0 with upgraded gimbal, props, prop mount system, and larger motors. I've got about 5 grand in this alone.

Sample footage from Table Rock Lake. Wrong time of day to be flying but it turned out okay for being as dark as it was. One point in the video it was 2.7' off the waters surface and over 2500 feet from shore.

Yeah, I've got a lot tied up into it but I do it as a side job from the FD and then do a lot of shoots just for myself. It's a fun hobby and putting everything together from start to end is pretty satisfying.

I finally saw one of these in person and thought it looks really tasteful. The wheels are so much better and the colour is good for subtlety. The major drawback is the price however. I checked it out in Canada and it is over $5000 more than the FR-S and about $2500 more than the BRZ hyper blue. Not sure why there's such a higher premium.

I payed $31,490 cash for mine. The only other FRS they had on the lot was a red one for $28k and change. It was worth the extra for me to have one of one thousand. And it's loaded with everything. Wife likes it so really that's all that matters.

Sorry to bump this post... I find there is a disturbing lack of RS 2.0 porn. I know it was limited to 1000, but are these still sitting on lots or are buyers simply not forum-goers!? Too expensive?

I saw one when I lived in Charlotte. Was pretty pleased. I like the black wheels.
