I guess it is time to make a build thread. I’ll have to play catch up because I have already done a bunch of things. I’m not looking to go crazy with this build though (famous last words, right?). My goals are to improve the aesthetics while gaining some performance for spirited driving and the occasional track day, but this car is foremost my daily—my CARB legal daily. The good news is that my daily commute isn’t far, so I don’t rack on tons of miles. I have only put 3k miles on the car since I bought it early December (6 months ago). Yet, in the back of my mind, I have the idea to strip the car someday to turn it into a trailer track car, but that is far into the future. At that point I’ll be thinking of coilovers, but until then, I’m fine with lowering springs. Stuff like that. A few of my last builds were mostly just light restoration work, simple MIG welding, some garage CNC stuff, bolt on mods and painting--just basic stuff. Besides the vehicles below I owned a Lancer, 240sx, a second mkiv Supra and a Civic--nothing big really. I have purchased the OEM Forester XT oil cooler/regulator and RR Racing BBK front and rear. Should be here soon then install and pics!

A shorty or shark fin should be on your short list of to-do mods. Super cheap and it gets rid of the fact your car currently looks ... erect ...
Loving this build so far though, I appreciate the mostly-OEM aesthetic |

My buddies n I worked on the BRZ today.

I added the RR Racing Stage 2 front and Performance rear kits. Just starting to brake things in, but it is feeling great so far.
Installed the Bayson R STI replica front; waiting till September when they get the sides and rears in. I also purchased the new DD Always-On module...waiting for shipping. Pics to follow. |
Did you do the full Forester XT cooler as per the DIY or just hooked it into the loop under the intake?

Finished the project. There is noticeable heat coming from the new vent. Im 90% happy with this project. I havent polished the orange peel away because I wanted to wait until after they were installed in case any blemishes occurred during install.

I ordered the Ortiz custom dual gauge pods. It'll take 2 months to come in. Planning on running Defi Racer oil pressure and temp and a 60mm boost in the vent. Not too sure on where to put the sensors. I have time to figure it out.
