But she absolutely hates the fact that it has steelies + hubcaps. I'll get some Toyota center caps for my FR-S wheels and put them on her car after I upgrade. Assuming the sizing/spacing works out of course.

Either that or I'll just be selfish and use them for snow tires ;)

2009-12 Matrix 1.8L models use 5x100, 2.4L models use 5x114.3.

That Matrix S has 5x114.3.

Wow.. thanks NickD - early reviews made it sound like this bolt pattern was a one-off, and that finding wheels to fit it would be nearly impossible.

Looks like that was a load of BS...

My thought was to go to the scrap yard and find some cheap wheels to fit for beating on ;)

KEEP IN MIND THE CENTER BORE DIAMETERS

they are different for all these cars, so if you plan on interchanging rims be prepared to either get centering rings or put the wheels on yourself being very diligent in hand tightening the nuts in the proper fashion.

The problem isn't finding a wheel with the right bolt pattern.
It's finding a wheel with the right bolt pattern, width, and offset.

So yeah, wheel choice still sucks.

I strongly recommend going with hub rings. I've seen people chasing their tails trying to diagnose wheel vibration issues that end up being a missing hub ring more than once.

Easiest way to shop for wheels for this car is to shop for WRX wheels, and there are PLENTY of wheels for that car. Same bolt pattern and centerbore and offset.
