Does the BRZ having the mustache give it an air of sophistication?

only if you add a monocle and tophat

You sir are wrong, mustaches were seen as a form of expression and standing for a lot of "bourgeois" (we are talking well kept/groomed mustaches).

Look it up, most important/well known/respected figures (men of course) had beards or mustaches back then.

Pictures are of J. Rockefeller and N. Tesla respectively.

The front ends of most cars are typically designed to resemble faces. The way the front bumper of the BRZ is formed, the so-called "mustache" is inside the "mouth" opening in the front of the car, where you would expect teeth.

I don't think I've ever seen a mustache inside someone's mouth.

Therefore, calling it a mustache is possibly the most stupid comment you can make about this car.

Hey, it's fine if you don't like the bumper. But at least quit repeating an insult that doesn't make any sense like a flock of brain-damaged parrots.

You've obviously never had an unkempt mustache that you grew very long... because you will have mustache in your mouth at that point :S

BRZ looks like this though:

Dont be jelly. About 8/10 males i know cannot grow a beard/mustache. Is ok haha:iono::iono::iono::iono:

OP: Get the cheapest car you can with least miles and full of extras from dealer. Get the high end BRZ imo and later you can swap stuff to Toyota if you so wish. Resale is about 10-20% higher here for BRZ.

none of those are sophisticated aside from possibly Einstein. Being well known or popular or even smart does not make you sophisticated (Eastwood is a gritty rough guys the opposite of sophistication, Downey is a crazy person and I love him but that's not sophistication, Einstein was batshit and did not fit too well in what many consider sophistication except if you start considering his work then that work was indeed sophisticated).

My examples were much better :P being Rockefeller and Tesla (which oddly enough are both sophisticated but also very different almost opposites).

Don't worry about the "Subaru better"thing. They are just uppity elitists. The top tier BRZ just has more options/accessories. The push start button can be added for about 400$ if you can install yourself

go home you peasant :)

Wrong. The line of the "mouth" clearly goes around and above the bumper. People who say the BRZ has a mustache must believe that hair grows from teeth. Perhaps that's from a history of poor dental hygiene in their backwoods communities.

Yes, actually I have had a long mustache. It didn't grow from my teeth.

The bumper actually resembles a boxer's mouth guard, which I suspect was the intent (as a play on "boxer" engines) until a bunch of hillbillies who thought hair grew from teeth started calling it a mustache.

I think it's best you chill out dude. The name calling is unnecessary

I disagree. I think it's entirely appropriate to refer to people who think hair grows from teeth as hillbillies and morons, and I grin every time I do it. And when I grin, I do not have a mustache growing from my teeth.

Well I don't believe hair grows from teeth but it still looks like a mustache and you're the first person I've seen that doesn't think so

I'm not the only one, but it can get lonely being among the few who actually think for themselves instead of blindly following the hairy teeth crowd.
