Quietest single exit exhaust?

Just like what the title says - who offers the quietest one? I want the weight drop of a single tip, but don't want volume. I enjoy stealth mode.

Stealth mode not gonna happen with single exit really.

I have the Tanabe Concept G and it is probably the quietest single

JDM Haze 06-07-2016 07:03 PM

Yea Tanabe Concept G. I just installed it today actually. I have Gruppe S UEL Header and catless front pipe. Defiantly not stealth mode, maybe if you're all stock. It's loud only when you really get on it. Quiet when cruising and no drone what so ever. It passed the girlfriend test aswell and we can converse no problem at all. But then again I think anything will be better than what I had on before (berk dual muffler delete).

The better question is, what do you define as "quiet"?

And what else do you have on the car?

s14sleepyeyez 06-07-2016 07:21 PM

Achieving this "quiet" is quite impossible with our motor anyways whether its single or dual. Unless you were like me with my prior setup, Perrin resonated CB, with Invidia resonated front pipe. But for a single, FT86speedfactory has a pretty sweet looking single not sure if its quiet. But the Greddy GT Evo 3 Single? I think is definitely lower in DB with stock front pipe and header.

On the contrary, it's quite possible.

I've had both the Fujitsubo Authorize R as well as the Blitz Nur-Spec VS/VSR on my car, and both were equal to stock in terms of absolute db measurements.

In practice, both were "deeper" but still stock-sounding. A hair quieter than the TRD exhaust.

Kakimoto GT1.0Z is fairly quiet with the silencer in.

My definition of quiet is stock. Now, I'm not really expecting stock sound levels from a single pipe setup (at least, one that offers worthwhile weight loss), but if one were as quiet as, say, the Greddy SP Elite, that'd be appealing. I know it's asking a lot, and the likelihood of there being an available system like this is slim, but I figured I'd ask.

Right now the exhaust is stock, but I plan to upgrade to a FT86SF catted header at some point in the near future.

Simple, custom exhaust. You can put huge res to reduce the drone and noise.

That's what I have and lovin' it

Stock vs Blitz VS/VSR sound clip:

Exhaust note comparison of stock system versus Blitz Nur-Spec VS/VSR catback.

Max db:
Stock - 83.9db
Blitz VS/VSR - 86db

Sequence: 10 seconds idle, rev to 2500RPM 3x, rev to 4000RPM 3x, rev to 5000RPM 3x, "response rev" 4000-6000RPM 3x, idle 5 seconds.
Edit: I would add that to achieve stock-type levels of sound with single exit is impossible with a pre-fabricated catback exhaust. Your only option is custom.

These guys are right. If you want to exit on the other side of the car, find the largest Thermal Research and Development muffler that will fit in the space, have some connect the pipes and add a tip.
