STi Front Grille Emblem Install

Hey guys,

So I've just received my new genuine STi front grille emblem and I plan on installing this weekend. My car is still only a few weeks old and doesn't have the dreaded front bumper gap (yet) so I was looking for some advice from those who've already installed this and preferably didn't remove the bumper. There doesn't seem to be anything great online for this. Is it possible to complete the install without removing the bumper - if so, how did you do it? I was hoping I could put the car on ramps and drop out the front under panel and access the back of the grille from the bottom?

Cheers!

I literally walked up to my car, reached in there with my hands, and snapped it in place. It's stayed on for over a month already with no wobble, no loosening, and even doesn't un clip from power washing it. No idea what it clips into as I didn't remove the bumper so I didn't see the inside, but somehow it clips in.

I just removed the plastic cover behind the grill (under the bumper mostly pushpins) loosened off a few screws that held another plastic cover on and jammed my arm in there to tighten up my grill badge! (Pretty simple if you have skinny arms lol)

It's a bitch man. You can certainly do it without taking the bumper off, but you'll need skinny arms for sure. I don't suggest just clipping it in, you'll need to use the screws provided and get them tightened down as much as possible.

Mine is perfectly fine just clipped in. Even after I ripped my bumper off and cracked it on a curb the badge never got the slightest bit loose.

Yeah lol, my arms were way too big to screw it in and I wasn't comfortable removing the bumper so I just clipped it from the front and never looked back

Did you get the STi version, of the BRZ? Any pics?

Thanks guys. Yeah unfortunately my hands and forearms are too big to do anything but get stuck in the grille slats haha! Ironically after posting this last night I found another thread (which for some reason I didn't find the other 20 times I searched the same thing) where they did exactly as Curtski96 said - easy as. Personally I'd rather use the screws since I have them and all. I'll see if I can remember to post a pic when I'm done ☺️
