anyone tried this yet? Just came across this video gonna give it a try tonight maybe. seems like a good idea.

Chimera 06-06-2016 04:16 PM

im curious, it makes some sens, it lets you force a tighter told in the back corner

nickmerronesucks 06-06-2016 04:17 PM

Yes, I will let you know how it goes. I'm hoping i have some of these clips at home im pretty sure i do If so i will try tonight atleast on one side.. I'm tired of seeing my bumper like this. Lol

turtlefeeder 06-06-2016 05:08 PM

One handed like a champ lol

sirsol66 06-06-2016 09:38 PM

I'll try this on my 13 when I get the car back. The stupid gap has been driving me crazy but I refuse to put on the quick latch system.

PandaSPUR 06-06-2016 10:09 PM

Kinda skipped around the video, so basically:

1. Remove side marker
2. There's a plastic screw normally used to hold bumper to frame/fender/whatever, remove that.
3. Put that random flat clip behind the hole and replace plastic screw with a screw that screws into the flat clip.

The rest with the ziptie and the side marker is just because the dude broke his A clip and decided to go another route?

nickmerronesucks 06-07-2016 09:15 AM

My side marker is already ziptied it. So I went ahead and did this to my sagging side last night. Looks a lot better gap wise and seems a lot sturdier, we will see what happens when i hit some bumps to see if the bumper gets knocked out of place or anything.

Mazikowski 06-07-2016 11:09 AM

Is there a similar fix for the bumper sagging under the headlight (where it clips into that awful bracket)? The dealer fixed mine with new brackets but it came right back so I've been meaning to pull my bumper off and try to fix that for a while now...

nickmerronesucks 06-07-2016 11:12 AM

that was my major problem saging by headlight and where it meets the fender, appears to have fixed it. Like i said I will update as time goes on

Got a pic?

This sagging bumper is driving me nuts every time I look at the car and I'm embarrassed by it. Hoping someone doesn't notice it. I thought it had to do with my accident where someone ripped off the front end but it doesn't appear to be so.

nickmerronesucks 06-07-2016 05:55 PM

give me a bit

nickmerronesucks 06-10-2016 11:04 AM

well has been 3 days so far and driver side is holding up, gap isn't 100 Percent perfect but it looks 90 percent better and its no longer hanging off..

going to do passenger side soon.

Chimera 06-10-2016 01:49 PM

I might try this this weekend.
I have some other things to clean up, like one of my fog lights has water entry I need to address.. :|

THIS!
is how it shoudl have been done.

Is there a normal marker housing which changes the retarded toyota housing by any chance?

boredom.is.me 06-17-2016 12:34 PM

You mean the side marker? No, it's just a bad design in every way.

rocket bunny :bellyroll:

ajcarson11 07-28-2016 11:14 PM

I did this just earlier today. It reduced the gap and you can no longer see the gap unless you squat down and look at the fender/bumper straight on. Cost $6 for all the parts from Lowes and makes the connection of the bumper/fender much more sturdy.
