Rattling noise

Hey there, Ive noticed a rattling noise coming from the gear shift location at high RPM's, its a manual. Dosent matter what gear its in, I get the noise when the RPM goes past the 5000 mark, im assuming somethings come loose because ive belted the hell out of it and its under warranty so what do you guys think happened? Sounds a bit like metal on metal its currently done 15000 kms. Still runs fine, gears change smoothly but just that ratteling noise is a concern

Welp, there are several threads that have addressed a similar issue.

I ain't no @Tcoat, so I can't tick them off for you......and I'm too damn lazy to look for them.

As I recall, it might be the knob itself, the reverse mechanism that is lose or the shifter springs (I forget what they are called) are weak or the linkage has too much play in it or the transmission mounting bolts are not tight or the TOB is going bad or ...........

(sorry, I'm no help....... :()

hold the bottom part of ur shiftknob to see if it goes away first. :) Then follow tcoat's post.

But I have come to accept the fact rattle noise in our car is common. LOL
