The dreaded clutch whine

Never good when the old clutch whines. Im pretty sure its the TOB but we'll see. This is the make or break, to see if my extended warranty will cover it.
She goes in at 7:15 in the morn. She has 50,100miles

Isn't powertrain warranty 60k miles/5 years?

Hopefully they fix it and you can go back to enjoying your car.

The TOB is not covered by warranty. It's a wear part, like brakes, tires, clutch disc, etc.

Ooh right. I had my throw out bearing replaced by the dealer when I got the squeaky clutch but that was back when I was at 30k miles.

It's gonna be the TOB, mine lasted about 3months going from constant whine to total annihilation.

More on the clutch. Happens upon initial start up in the morn when I'm backing out. After a few minutes no whine. Pulls theres no slippage. Shifts smooth The clutch is squeeky but I haven't replicated the problem since leaving house. Sitting here in a long line of yotas. Monday is gona suck.

Depends on the dealer. Probably about 50/50 judging from the posts on here. May also depend a lot on how the owner approaches the dealer.

Well they had it for two days, couldn't replicate the noise, he drove it and said its not the throw out bearing. I though I would get hitched with a young kid but he was a mature older mechanic. He said tell you what lave the car with us i'll crank it in the morning and drive it to see if i hear this same sound. He did and he didn't both he and the service guy were out there, radio off windows down and the service guy said i was outside and i heard nothing.

Perhaps it is nothing ,but maybe still just annoying sound, maybe its just amplified in my garage, dunno. For now I am content this is resolved but will keep an ear out for it as I go along.

When I left it the second day he asked me is it garage kept, i said yes, he says i'll open another ticket to put it in the shop. Cool of them

Im convinced they did their duediligance and the only other think they can do is rip it apart and see, which yea no im not doing that

okay end of story

Case closed

(for now)
