Black Housing with Red Lens Tails

A while back I asked here what I should do with my tail lights. Black housing? Red lense? Or both.

I decided to do both. I'll need to redo the red at some point. When wet sanding I didn't realize the edges were coming off...and I'd like to get them professionally clear coated. But I love the way they came out!! Used dupli color metalcast for the red lense and standard gloss black for the housings.

I like them! The black makes them look totally different. :w00t:

Clear coat is not that tricky. I'm sure you could do it.

Thanks! I'm happy with the results. Especially since its my first time doing anything like this. Next up is the headlights!

I know I could, but I have a few friends who work at body shops, so it wouldn't cost me much. But I'll see how they hold up.

Well, if you have friends that can spray a little clear for you. Wet sand those lights, tape them off, buy a 12pack and show up at their shop! Clear will look really nice over the color.

My buddy fixes and paints cars. I have spent tons of time working with him. Its really nice to have someone that can give you deal on this type of work. Some places will try and charge to much!

That's what I'm thinking. If it's not gonna cost me much, might as well!
