Taking our Flex Fuel kits to a whole new level of safety, our Dynamic Engine Safety System (DESS) upgrade, allows you to upgrade your existing Mk1 flex fuel kit with enhanced features. With these features, you can be rest assured that in the event of a fuel pressure loss, your engine will be protected, as our safety system will rapidly detune the engine to avoid damage brought on by a sudden lean condition, faster than the ECU can respond, thus protecting the engine from possible damage brought on by pre-ignition.

Works with any version of the flash and go tune? No update required?

And where's the option to buy it with the race fuel lines?

what about those who bought the v1 flexfuel, do we just pay the difference?

Does not work with any version, you'll need to update to the latest version or we can tweak the current version you have.

The race line option has been added, it's a $20 addition, that comes with quick disconnect fitting.

Sorry , noob question, why flex fuel? What could it do? I've Google flexfuel here and there but doesn't seem to improve hp or performance? Could you please explain benefits? Very interested to learn

Flex fuel means adding capability for multifuel, petrol & ethanol and any mix of them. With autodetecting mix ratio and changing ECU tunes timings as needed.

E85 has an octane equivalent of roughly 108. Compared to the standard 91 or 93 octane of normal gas, that's a significant jump and can allow for a pretty large increase in horsepower if the tuner knows what they're doing.

Zach, will it be possible to use this sensor to input oil pressure info onto the canbus?

I don't have first hand experience, but my understanding is you'll use more fuel but the fuel is less expensive, then you have to consider the extra fuel you'll be using because you've got your foot on the fun end of the throttle travel more often...

On E85 you fuel economy will be aprox 25% worse than on 91/93 petrol.


you don't actually need a flex fuel kit to run E85 you could run E85 by just flashing a dedicated E85 tune or using the map switch function of Ecutek to switch tunes. fine with NA cars, boosted different story unless you have controlled source of E85
