1300 miles- first crickets and solution!

Going to work, cold engine not getting on it, I heard the crickets for the first time with just over 1300 miles on the odo. I've read that it's a common issue and nothing to worry about (right?.....)

The solution is a Berk muffler delete! Somehow I don't hear much from the crickets anymore.

Is there any point when the crickets mean there's a real problem?

No. Ignore it and make some jokes to your friends about it.

I need to find a Jimini Cricket window decal.

The first time I heard it I was linking the intermittent noise to the rear diff or rear brake discs.. don't ask!

What does it sound like outside the car?

Sounds like a mildly squeaky belt outside the car.

Went home one evening and left the car running while I got some stuff out of the trunk to give to the wife. Standing there I could hear crickets really heavy. Thought to myself "Wow not getting gas from that station again". We decided to take her car so I shut mine down, got out and closed the door. Still heard crickets. Realized it wasn't the car but was in fact some insects calling for mates.

I was driving through rural Louisiana and was about to fall asleep, so when I hit the next small town I stopped for coffee at a gas station/convenience store. Inside the store I heard my car idling and momentarily freaked out that someone had started it up.

Then I realized this store also sold bait. There was a cage full of crickets near the counter.

DANG, @extrashaky ....... I'm about to put you into the same basket as @Tcoat ............. :sigh:

Tree frogs, in the springtime in Connecticut, would push you both over the edge ....... :eyebulge:

Nah, we gave Connecticut to Denmark in exchange for a lifetime supply of LEGOs.
