Brake system question
Hi everyone, recently I just bought a 2014 BRZ and trying to upgrade the car for the first time. One of my friend is offering me his old brake system from 350Z. Its Rotora brake system as pictures showed. I need some help on whether this brake system is compatible to my BRZ?

No, not at all.
As for upgrading, what exactly are you trying to improve? More pistons don't automatically mean you'll have better brake performance. |
Each car needs specific to it front-rear brake bias. Retrofitting brakes from another car, even if possible in some cases due similar mounting dimensions/specs (eg. STI brembo-s) will compromise your brake system, making it less effective/reliable and interfering with electronic nannies. Just DON'T. If you are set on upgrading stock brakes (not that bad for OEM. Maybe lacking big heat capacity for longer track sessions, but otherwise fine), for cheaper way i'd just change brake pads and brake fluid. Maybe add air duct cooling to those. If you want full brake upgrade, just visit some of many online shops selling parts that are made for our cars and won't compromise anything. There are many big brake kits available for ours. If you want more tailored for track, i'd advise something like Essex AP Sprint kit. RR willwood kits seem well priced.

There are plenty of competitively priced brake kits that are tailor made for our cars. Trying to reverse engineer a mount for a caliper setup that isn't made for these cars isn't advisable. Like churchx said the RR and Essex kits are both great balanced kits.

There's more to braking than "hey it fits", similar to how you can't just slap on a turbo that "just fits". |
So many multi page threads on this forum about how to swap another car's brakes onto this car cuz BAMBOS!!!
