If they cut drivetrain losses by like 10%, wouldn't any additional power we add also get 10% more whp? I mean I could be totally wrong. Just a thought.

I am not sure if it'll be really +15 or +20 PS. We'll have to wait for the first dynos. Fact is that the official spec says 205 PS. There are some rumors that they didn't change the spec to 215 PS or 220 PS for tax reasons. However, this could give a better argument to potential customers. Also taxes in most countries are based nowdays on the CO2 emmisions and not on the power of the car. Maybe I make a mistake here and you can correct me :)

I think that it'll just feel faster because they worked a bit on the torque dip issue and has a shorter final drive ratio.

I'm also curious how much the Performance Package cars will weigh.

For sure it'll be heavier. More sound deadening material, thicker parts for better high speed stability and comfort to the base car. You'll have to add some more weight for the upgraded brakes.

Wonder if you can get the performance package installed on the 2013 model? Not sure if this is factory installed or dealer installed.

This worries me. I am planning on purchasing a new BRZ but if in another year or two an actual STI model could be released or second generation (whatever you wanna call it), i will be kicking myself if i purchase a 2017 in March and then 2 years or so later the new gen comes out and kicks this one's ass. i love this car and what it has to offer but essentially id like a bit more power. UGH, this makes things sticky

It's like buying a computer, just buy it and don't look back 3 months later when its more powerful and cheaper. Sooner or later you have to lay the money down and not look back. Or you can always waste your money and lease.

Yes. I'm not impressed at all. I would be much more impressed with the same peak power and a bigger area under the curve with no dip and a UEL manifold to give that classic Scooby sound.

Performance pack adds 20 lbs to the limited and the 2017 non-perf pack limited 2017 is 17 lbs heavier than the 2013 limited.

There you have it, folks. The 2017+ are bloated pigs in comparison to the svelte pre-facelift models.

DatsunDimer 06-14-2016 11:32 AM

Maybe the Brembos got that CG down another.001" with most of the 20lbs... 5 HP may only help offset 17-37 extra pounds.

Can probably get the same thing done way cheaper from aftermarket right now. The only plus to adding the other parts would be warranty.

Most likely added at port like the RS series body kits and such. I have no clue how accurate but somebody once said it has something to do with import regulations and the car meeting certain specs when shipped.

Where? There aren't any in the other thread on that side of the forum, and I couldn't find anything on google. I guess I'll have to be patient.

But is this an actual 17 or one of the 16s with the 17 parts slapped onto it? There could be a difference between the two.

I was thinking the same thing. It could be either.
