Six days later, I got hit again by a few pebbles and caused two small chips on the driver's side at eye level but no cracks. Today, on my way to work, I heard something hit the right side of my windshield. By the time I got to work, I see a good 12" crack running across the passenger side. I was pissed. Just couldn't believe a brand new replacement windshield would get damaged this quickly. So I spent all morning calling everyone from the Toyota service dept., warranty dept., Toyota Corporate office as well as the glass shop that replace the first one. All I came out with was a case number filed with Toyota regarding this issue. They tell me to take it up with my insurance company and file a claim. And of course only to find out my deductible is higher than the cost of the repair. I'll have to pay out of pocket AGAIN. This really sucks.

this really sucks.
I just knew this winshield is weak comparing to other vehicle.
mine is just little crack. until reputable aftermarket winshield come out, i will just wait mine.

Sucks I know the feeling. I was behind a semi and he drove on shoulder (right side) and all kinds of rocks and crap hit my windshield causing one chip.

Just got a nice 7 inch crack myself. Heard a loud pop on the highway, checked the windshield and it had a microscopic chip near the cowl where you normally can't see it. Ended up growing several inches while I was at work.

Going to try to get this taken care of by progressive

Replaced the windshield not too long ago due to a crack and added a windshield coverage policy to my insurance.

Glad I did, I just got a huge chip and a nice crack only a few days after the new windshield/policy change.

I'm calling my new windshield Robert Downy Jr. because it loves crack

On my morning commute about 5 days after ownership, I got pegged by some rocks launching up from behind a pickup truck with dualies. Went out to my car after work and noticed a forearm length crack on the center of the windshield!

Ended up having safelite replace the windshield with OE Subaru glass. Make sure your installer is careful when removing the mounting bracket for the mirror. My installer stripped the screws in the bracket and had to replace it. My mirror vibrates a bit more now when driving.

Anyways, windshield cracks on a new car suck, but there's nothing you can do about them!

I got a chip earlier this week and used the Blue Star repair kit. The chip was small but included a horizontal crack about 1.5" wide. The kit worked really well. Highly recommend it.
