Edmonton Buyers Experience? Dealer Issues
 

Has anyone had any issues with dealers in Edmonton? I am having an issue getting an ETA on an order or even a location of where my car is. What kinds of issues have you had with Edm dealers?

I am in the same boat as you... I put a deposit down for mine mid June and haven't heard a thing. The salesman emailed me last Thirsday and all I got for an update was "the system hasn't updated in a while so I can't tell you where your car is" almost a week later and still no update. when I gave my deposit and ordered the car they told me 5 weeks which would put me at the end of July.

Mine just arrived on lot. They just received 4 white ones at Mayfield on Monday. They weren't in the system or PDI'd at the time, but they are physically there. I gave them my deposit in May.

I called Mayfield today and all of those are sold :paddle: looks like I am still on the waiting list... Another day without an update...:thumbdown:

If you were quoted end of July and you keep wanting an update ... Good luck. You may get updates 2 weeks prior of that date , it's not like they get an update every 24 hours as to what happens.

Not all dealers are honest about their wait-list lengths either (some of them just want your deposit so they can string you along). If you put a deposit in June I'd be very surprised if it comes in July or even August (the lines were longer than that months before that, unless lots of people canceled). That said, until it's actually on the boat, the dealer will have no idea when it's coming. They should be able to get you a von. I got a von three months before mine actually showed up (when they put the order in once orders were allowed in March), and a vin almost a month before it showed up. Yours would hopefully be faster now that the initial release is done, but who knows.

I don't expect an update every 24 hours... All I want to know is if it has been shipped or when it will be shipped so I have an idea of when it will get here. I gave a deposit over the phone and haven't heard a thing since.

I haven't heard a thing on mine but I put a deposit late and I'm in no real rush.

The dealership should have at least been able to tell you what place you were. I was 2nd in line for a white, and 8th in line for the FR-S. Did you order yours from Mayfield or Sherwood?

I ordered mine from Sherwood but I called Mayfield just to see if someone had backed out of one by chance - no such luck! lol

Anyone else on the list at Sherwood? If so, do you know what number you are and when you ordered, when they said it would be delivered?

Sherwood Park originally told me the 10th of July when I was colour specific I opened up my colour options then I heard the 18th. That same day I called later when I knew the associate that helped me previously would not be working and had them look it up, the 24th.

I know this is nothing to complain about given some members wait times haha but I just get a bad feeling from it all.

Been having issues with Sherwood. I was told it would be beginning of July and now they have no idea. Definitely feels like a runaround. Supposedly I won't get a VIN until they get an ETA from the GVR Port. Supposedly it's in the port, but no status or any idea when it will ship up here.

Very frustrating.

I feel for you guys, I got mine already but there was no help at all until I started harassing Scion directly on Facebook and through email. I did eventually get answers, but never through the dealership I was happy when I did finally get some help, but there are a few dealerships that are never getting my money again. Also having my sales guy offer me a free oil change at 8,000km made me want to strangle him. The brochures that Scion posts on the internet say the first one is always free.
