BRZ in the wet. Driving in the rain

I bought my 16' limited two weeks ago. In that time I swear my car has seen the rain for at least 9 days! Infact the day I brought it home I ended up in a friggin' hailstorm and flash flood on interstate 40 that left my stomach in knots. Thankfully, no damage.

It has been a journey so far. And it was storming this morning on my way to work.

How often do you drive in the rain with your twin?

I do everytime it's raining... but then again I'm in a middle of desert.:bonk:

Almost every day lately. It's no big deal if you wash your car right on good days.

Apparently rain is just my life now with the weather lately.

Also the rain combined with the crap coming off the trees in the parking lot at work makes it like black ice in some spots.

It's two feet too long!

I've never driven my brz in the wet, but from what I heard it's more dangerous than having a bath with a toaster.

If you have a slab of meat for a right foot and a side of ribs for a brain sure it would be dangerous. But if you any exp drive at all your fine.

Sounds like perfect place to practice doing donuts.

Yeah I'm with him on that one. Made the mistake of turning off traction in the rain. Never again, nothing but safe driving in rain from now on. Like someone said if your experienced you'll be fine.

Rain is normal... I've recently driven on track in the rain and done a few wet autocrosses. Nothing special, just less grip.

Since mine is my DD, I don't get to leave it in the garage when a workday and bad weather coincide. God, do I know I-40 in NC when the weather closes in. I have been cruising along in bright sunshine and smacked into a solid wall of rain and hurtled out the other side of it back into sun and dry road before I could get the wipers on. And on my 32 mile commute from Mars Hill to Black Mountain, the weather can change four times before I get there.

The car, however, is not too shabby, though it doesn't really know how to swim. When my OE Michelins wear out, I'm heading for the best all-season high performance tires I can get.
