Visor Warning Label Removal

FYI

They are NOT just a vinyl sticker that can be removed with a hairdryer.

They are painted on and come off in tiny bits when heated. :mad0259:

I had some pieces of semi-gloss black adhesive vinyl cut to size, and just stuck it on top of the stickers. Any sign shop can do it in about 10 minutes, probably would charge you $10, and it actually looks just fine - blends in quite well - it's certainly a LOT better than staring at those damn white warning labels!

I don't know why they put those on the bottom side of the visors anyways....

It appears to me that overlaying the label (as you have done) with some kind of material is the only way to solve the problem.

Is this a joke? I seriously can't imagine how this would void the warranty.

The labels, man! The labels!

Wow, I picked at this sticker today and yeah that shits on there nice... If anyone figures out a clean way to remove it post that ish up

I heard you don't like stickers so we made a sticker to cover your sticker so you only see the sticker when you hide the sticker.

^^ LOL...that is freakin hillarious

"Goof Off" will easily remove the labels; HOWEVER, it leaves enough white residue (which I could not remove) to make the side of the visor, which had the sticker, a shade of grey.

FYI. Rubbing alcohol, gas, kerosene, and mineral spirits will NOT remove the labels.

Now, off to deal with this new issue!:mad0259:

The Continuing Saga

Sprayed about 4 layers of Plasti Dip over the whole side of the sunvisor with the grey patches. It covered the grey and looked great; HOWEVER, when dry, the Plasti Dip rubs off easily with your finger and would take no wear what-so-ever.

Coated the Plasti Dip with 4 coats of satin polyurethane and now have to wait to see if that improves the durability of the Plasti Dip.

Will post the results.

AHHAHAH I did it last night as well. Sticker off, but the side is way more washed out than the untouched side. Rub alc no dice, goof off worked but wrecked it.

I'm going to order a replacement (hopefully without a sticker) or have it wrapped up in fabric.

For those who removed their sunvisors, is the wiring there for the illuminated sunvisors on non-illuminated (i.e. BRZ premium/FRS) cars?

Sounds to me like someone needs to design some stickers that have either FT86 or BRZ on them that will apply over the factory stickers. You might want to contact a company called "Streamline Design" and see if they can't whip up something for you. They did a bunch of things for the PT Cruisers when they came out.
