Question for auto turbo owners
Hey hey heeeey,
I have a few questions and I was wondering if the auto owners could pipe in to help me out please? Once you have the turbo installed with the tune, how is the gear shifting? Does it still shift smooth as ever? Do the snow/normal/sport modes also work? Do you have to have the traction off, or will the sport DTC be enough for normal/ spirited driving? Did you get launch control and if yes how is it? If you were to do it all over again, what would u do different, if anything? Any other additional comments that you want to share for me and other people like me? Thank you very much for your time and help on the matter! |
FI has no effect on the AT operation

I had the SBD kit on briefly, but it didn't shift under heavy load. It would go into this "all gears" mode, or at least it felt that way. I think it just unlocked the torque converter and stayed in whatever gear it was in. I had an OFT and didn't want to give it up. Chris @ SBD said all his other kits for AT's were tuned by Ecutek, so they must have a work-around for this. I strongly recommend using a transmission oil cooler if you are going FI with an AT. All trans modes worked same as before. Launch control is not applicable for an AT. What would be really nice would be switchable drive-by-wire throttle maps.
