Manualy Immobilize Toyota 86/BRZ?
Hi there,
So I lost my licence a couple of weeks ago. Although my baby locked away in secure parking, I would still like to go to a few extra measures to make sure no one can flog it.. Back when I had a honda I remember I would just remove the ignition cord and the car couldn't be started without it. I was wondering where or if there's one I could remove in my BRZ? Any help would be greatly appreciated :) |
Just disconnect the battery?
|
Remove the steering wheel, it's very easy to remove.
|
Remove ignition fuse?
|
Don't leave the key in it. Already has a pretty effective I mobilizer system. Transponder in the fob prevent hot wiring.

In addition to disconnecting the battery, you may consider removing it and hooking it up to a battery tender, that it will be ready to go ..... when you are ..... humfrz |
Fuel pump relay?
|
what kind of secure parking? Should be safe no?
|
did you find license yet?
Please circle below (y/n) thanks |
I really doubt that you can ghetto-engineer any theft deterrent that could match the effectiveness of the OEM system.
All of the suggestions posted so far (disconnect battery, disable ignition, disable fuel pump, etc) have been around for generations, and any competent thief (or mechanic) could circumvent in a matter of seconds. |
Asking the real questions: how did you lose your license?
|
I'll sell you my Unichip for $200. There's an immobilizer map available.
