2 weeks ago ,, i got pulled over by a cop because of my blue switchback signal light. So he gave me a fixing ticket. I already went to the local police station and have a officer sign off. However, today i received a courtesy notice.

I can choose proof of correction by paying $25. But how can i do that? the police officer didnt give me back the ticket.

What should i do? Check that box "proof of correction"and mail it back to them?

Thanks

Here's what happened to me:

Day 1: Got pulled over for burnt out bulb on brake light.

-received fixer ticket.

Day 2: Replaced bulb and took car to local Police Dept to get it signed off.

-police signed off ticket
-paid $25 for sign off

Day 5: Went to local traffic court to submit signed off ticket.

-Paid about $35 or so to close case.
-Submitted signed ticket.

In your case, you submitted your ticket signed to local PD? If so, go in again and have them return it or give you a proof [copy usually] of your ticket fixture sign-off.

And in the future always get a copy of any documents. Especially if legalities are involved.

Our brake light bulbs can burn out? LEDs normally have quite a long shelf life

Oh, I doubt it.

Your best option is to get of the state within the next 30 days ....... and NEVER go back!

Back in 1968, I had USAREUR plates on my VW and parked in LA. I got a $10 parking ticket. I decided not to pay it. I didn't think they could trace the plates. I was wrong, I can never go back to LA county because they have a warrant out for my arrest. After 48 years, the fine plus penalties is up to $23,473.76 (according to my last statement). This in addition to 5 years of community service, sweeping streets in North Compton ...... at night.

What should I do ....... :iono:

Just take the court letter to a local PD and have it signed off (again).

And turn it back in to the court...

Much like any traffic ticket, the citation is a paper COPY of the infraction or violation. The only copy that matters is what is on file with the court.

Straight into Compton just does not have the same ring to it.

So between German game wardens hunting you down and old tickets you probably owe a cool half mil in fines from the 60s.

:suicide:
Realized I posted that half asleep, I feel stupid, but on the good side with cars using LED bulbs all over the place citations for failing lights will be harder to come by

Ya but led systems fail it is a much bigger pain than just swapping a bulb. Guess there is a trade off for everything.
