Brake Sound

I've finally found a video that replicates what my brakes sound like. When I release them I hear a clunk. Anyone have this issue?

And yes, it happens when it's not raining and the brakes are not moist.

Thanks guys!

No, I haven't noticed my car doing that except maybe once, after the emergency brake has been released.

But if it did, I would suspect that my car had a brake caliper sticking. I'd pull off the wheels and check them out.

Or, more likely in my case, run the car up to the local brake repair place and have them check them out ......;)

Sounds like worn brake shoes to me. Or some gunk up on the springs on the shoes.

Like humfrs said drop by any brake shop and have them take a look. Or if you are mechanically inclined, do it your self.

Does the sound happen only when it's damp or wet out?

My '15 brz makes the same noises.. not too sure whats up with that, i notice it mainly when I'm in a parking or at a light. No moisture/rain, im in SoCal but not super close to the beach, either, so salt water shouldn't be it. I'll see about running to a brake shop as soon as i can to see what's up.

The solution is to take them and have them checked.

I understand that and I'm not able to get that done yet so being able to have someone that can before me let me know what they found would be nice.

Brakes and steering are two things you wait to "get done" if you suspect there is something wrong. You bite the bullet and deal with them right away. Unless of course the car is parked and not being driven in which case you have all the time in the world to deal with it. His issue and yours may not be the same anyway.

I know that. I'm unable to do anything with the vehicle right now.

Well it is good to know you are not driving around for a couple of months with a potential braking issue.
