Dealer is ignoring me

Bought my frs on 4/30/16 with 14k miles

Took it back to dealer on 5/3/16 to look at stering wheel falling apart and crickets

Dealer told me nothing was wrong so i showed him the tsb for crickets

refuse to work on my car so i emailed Toyota corporate they contacted me Monday this week and said that my car is still under 3yr/36k warranty and don't know why dealer didn't fix it. So they contacted the dealer and told me to wait for them to call back by yesterday. never happened . so called Toyota corporate today and they said to wait till end of today that they will call dealership again and have them contact me.

well its the end of the day and still nothing. I ont even want to have them working on my car now if this is how they act.

soulreapersteve 05-13-2016 07:26 PM

Go to a different dealership.

Stang70Fastback 05-13-2016 07:36 PM

Replacing the fuel pump won't fix the cricket issue...

Why are you even trying to get the crickets fixed? They will just come back again because there is no fix

As for the steering wheel they can easily call it a "wear" item, but a lot of people have had there dealers replace them out of good will

humfrz 05-13-2016 07:55 PM

I've heard that some dealerships are refusing to change the fuel pump just because of the "crickets". Why, because the new ones do it too.

As far as the steering wheel, I've heard some have been replaced. Maybe it depends on how bad they are.

Do you have a picture for us .. ??

Since your car's situation is not life threatening, I'd suggest you give the dealership till the middle of next week to contact you ...... maybe they are busy.

I heard on the news last night, that the occurrence of strokes among the age group 25-40 now surpasses older folks ....... I wonder why ...... ??

The reason i didn't go to a different dealership is because i bought it from this one so i expected to be treated a little better than just some random person

The cricket TSB has been cancelled in Canada since it fixed nothing. It may have been in the US as well.

Find under 10% Ethanol and it will help reduce the crickets a little. I have switched 100% to Sunoco Ultra 93. In my area the Ethanol is under 10% and it's slowly quieting. Shell gas was the main source of my loud cricket noise.

I actually want to make a GOOD DEALER/SHIT DEALER thread.

go to a diff dealer. there is something called Lifetime Value for customers. clearly ur dealer isn't knowledgeable in what that is and means for business.

and write a shitty review on yelp for them

Couple of resources people should use

USA: http://www.dealerrater.com/reviews/

Canada: http://www.dealerrater.ca/

My Dealer: http://www.dealerrater.ca/dealer/Toy...-review-40027/ I will vouch that the reviews for them are overall very accurate and reflect my dealings.

I'm with the dealers on the cricket issue. I own a business and can easily see where they are coming from. They know there is no fix. So if they take your car in on the pretense of fixing it what are they supposed to do? You would just keep bringing it back and again and again, wasting everyones time. Sure ignoring you isn't the most professional but I also wouldn't expect to be on there urgent call back list for such a small concern.

Its a noise, some people find it annoying others don't even notice it.
