Swapping back to Pentosin.

Changing out the transmission fluid in my 13 FRS. I had used Pentosin in it, but last fluid change I went with Motul 300 in both the trams & rear end. I change the fluid every 25K, and have decided I prefer the Pentosin in the gearbox better. I did run Redline in the rearend previously, but like the Motul 300 for that application better. It seemed to "tighten up" the feel of the Torsen, although I don't know how it could. But, the gearbox just felt smoother with Pentosin in it, probably because it's a little lighter weight fluid.

I'm running a mix ~50:50 of Redline 80 and 85. This also feels MUCH better than Motul 300.

I am using Motul in my trans as well as diff and it feels great. though, this is the only fluid that I have used apart from the OEM fluid so I have no idea what other fluids are like.

Is Anybody out there still on the stock fluid without problems?

Am I the only one?

54K miles on the stock fluid still. Not a single problem. Getting changed this coming week though.

I'm on stock fluids for about 17,000km. I want to change mine, purely for something to do. Will probably change to some form of Aussie brand though.. not sure. And maybe do supercharger fluid at the same time.

Well, stock-ish...at least it's Toyota-supplied. The stealership drained the original fill when they did my clutch fork warranty work @15,000 miles, but refilled it with Toyota 75W LV (after first filling it with Subie GL5 gear lube...). I recently bought a liter of the 75W LV to do a partial refresh, as I'm at ~30K miles now. $50/liter...ouch.

I changed the fluid after 10,000 kms as break in maintenance. I first went to Motul 300 as everyone and their dog, from the south, says it's amazing. It sucks big fat hairy balls in cold weather though, so I switched about a week later. The guys at my local race shop and myself looked at the OEM fluid specs and decided on the mix. I didn't have any significant problems with the OEM fluid though. Second was a little notchy, but it was still livable.

Not exactly your target demographic but we've got all Motul products in the race car, knock on wood we haven't had any issues yet with the trans and the diff issues were mainly from trying to run a fresh new diff in a 13 hour race with no cooling.
