Transmission with F/I

So I recently put in a Turbo Kit through MAP currently running 12-15 psi on e85 with their 3" exhaust, SSP Transmission cooler, MAP Oil Cooler Kit and a soon to be built internals for the engine. I'm more or less wondering if anyone has upgraded the Transmission on this car. I am currently running a AT and I have yet to run into any issues and I'm currently at about 6,000 miles with the turbo in. Has anyone blown up their clutch in the AT? I know a few people destroyed their Manual. is it capable for handling that much Torque? I'll be putting close to 600whp once the internals are all set and done.

more than a few people have blown up the manual. Several have blown up the AT, just less common turbo AT's out there. SSP also has clutch packs for the AT I'm pretty sure. with your supposed 600whp, youll break it.

I am definitely going to look into that if they do as I will probably output about 500 torque I believe. Thank you for the help! Definitely going to talk to them about that.

Edit: Looked into their website and they have Valvebody upgrades which I assume is for the automatic transmission? I've only ever driven a manual so I'm not even sure here.

They have clutches too. It's all AT, no MT.

Where exactly are you finding this? I can't seem to find the clutches on their website.

I don't remember where, and I've tried to find it again and haven't been able to, but when looking into it for my car eventually I remember reading one of the transmission performance places saying that the AT in the twins is plenty capable of handling high power/torque so long as you keep the fluids cool.

So an A/T fluid cooler should do the trick, but you have to be careful that it doesn't run below operating temperature either...

at one point...

Clutches were offered at one point, but then were pulled down... Don't know if they're still working on resolving the issues they had...

Well I am currently running SSPPerformances Transmission Cooler with a gauge so that I can monitor temps at all times. If this is the case then I think that's all I really am concerned about.

Hi,

I can't find the people with broke AT.

Currently Runing e85 with sc and just over 340whp... Drive the car as it was my motocross bike and no transmission problems up to date. Do have some issues with the sc belt but that a thing of the pass. Btw do have an oil cooler for the transmission (oil to air) and keep the oem (oil to water), change transmission oil at 15k miles all with FI.

Hi,

I couldn't find the people with AT problems, but keep in touch. I'm waiting for the built engine and upgrade SC for some serious boost.

I personally know two locals who blew the stock AT at nearly 300 wtq, and have read more doing so in the forum over the years.

I have read something about some AT at drag racing that burn the clutch... But that's it.

If you could be so kind and point to the direction :)

And the local, what they brake? 4th gear as on MT?

I have just brought this up about a month ago. I've found a company that makes custom bellhousings and I've been eye balling a Tremec TR-6060 to mate to the FA20.

TR-6060 is compact and is rated for 600 ft·lb.

I'm not a track guy but I sure as he'll don't want a break down. Why people aren't giving us upgrade options by now is very sickning.

I'm also upset I don't see 3.73 swap kits without going to the Lexus dealer. The market is open for both but no one is touching it without trying to make 500% markup.
