Antenna delete

I couldn't find an option for an antenna delete so I made one myself. If anyone is interested in one of their own PM me and I'll send you the file to be 3d printed from "frosted model plastic".

Take it to your favorite body shop and have them paint it, and buff your roof(the stock antenna made marks in the paint). I glued mine in with clear silicone then put a bunch on the inside to be sure it's sealed. Easy as that.

The "proper"way to do it is to weld the hole shut and repaint the roof. My shop quoted me $370 for this. My way cost about 25$ including the silicone.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...a3cb763b10.jpg

Thanks. It's not perfect but for saving almost 350$ it's pretty nice

It looks pretty good, compare it to someone else on the forum that did an extremely crappy job with some sort of square plate.

This doesn't even seem noticeable.

I saw that one... do not want. I think they used a console plaque... anyways it's rectangular about 7/8x5/8. Just installed it today but I'll be sure to look for it every time I approach the car to see how good it is. For 25$ though I'm pretty pleased

Yea yours looks good, that other guys used some console plaque like you said and it stuck out and he made some comments like it would be good enough to hold water out and if you vinyl the roof its fine.

Also I know it's weird but OCD is kicking in could you press enter on before the second photo so its all in one line

Do you have any photos from further away?

It's in there, I can't see it. Maybe in different light you'd see a shadow/bump

Haha, I thought I was coming in here to see that done again.

As far as this one goes, looks much better, but still bothers me that it's not flush. Not something I'd be interested in doing, though. Decent enough, especially for the price.

If I trial and errored it a couple times I could mount the plug from the bottom and it would be 99% invisible but I think there would still be a tiny gap for dirt to collect in, that's why I went from the top.

I never even thought about doing this, but that looks good.

Antenna is only for radio right? GPS is under the dash?

I don't have gps but yea should be radio only. GPS should use a different kind of signal. My phones GPS works fine without an external antenna but my boom box at work can't pick up a radio station 40 miles away with an antenna

This definitely looks much better than the console plaque one (which made me laugh).
If I ever do this I will probably just remove the antenna, put in a good gasket that sits flush with the roof, and wrap the roof. I plan on wrapping it black down the road anyway, so maybe it's worth trying.
