interested.
would be my first track event ever.

HotLeopardMama 07-03-2012 03:47 PM

Do I need to have anything special on my FR-S, or is stock brakes/tires/yaddayaddayadda okay for this event? I really wanna learn how to be a better driver--so I can really enjoy the spoils of having a great car. :)

helloimgil 07-03-2012 03:52 PM

hmm interested as well

Starscream15 07-03-2012 03:52 PM

It would almost be worth the drive from Minnesota just to get the BRZ on that track :)

Tonym427 07-07-2012 06:35 PM

I'd be interested. Can drivers under 18 get on the track with parental permission? My brother wants a go as well lol.

It would be my first track day though.

I'm curious as to how this kind of event would cater to all of us first timers. Will all the track rules, vehicle classes, etiquette and such be discussed in the "basic instructions"

I don't want to make a fool of myself haha

Taken from there website
1; No one under the age of 16 can drive or be a passenger in any of extremespeedtrackevents track days unless a parent or legal gardian is present and all applicable waivers are signed

I've never went with this organization but usually they have a quick meeting before about the rules and most likely the first time out an instructor will drive your car for you

Hey guys,

I just did Streets of Willow through Extreme Track Events this past Saturday (7/7/12) and they were awesome. Really nice group of event organizers who really want a fun and (more importantly) safe atmosphere. My FR-S was perfectly fine with no brake fade or overheating issues even with an ambient temp of 102 degrees! Just take your FR-S/BRZs as is and play around with the tire pressures (if anything). You guys will all appreciate your cars even more as this track has a lot of fun turns. I will definitely be going back to SOW through Extreme Track Events.

Sounds awesome. I wanted to sign up for this upcoming event but my car is far from being broken in yet.

Is your brake system fully stock?

genometuning 07-14-2012 12:29 PM

humm.. july 29th is extreme autofest in san diego :(

wanger 07-14-2012 01:30 PM

Yep, my brakes and the rest of my car are 100% stock. I did the track day with about 1600 on the odometer. I hit ABS a few times going into the turn 2 and never lost pedal pressure feel or felt any fade. It's amazing how the car held up even on such a hot day. The only negative that I saw were the tread blocks on the tires. Due to the deep tread grooves, there was a lot of tread shifting going on at the top layer causing the outer edges of the tread blocks to have a very ragged finish. Other than that, no complaints!

You will be fine just sign up in the beginner run group.:party0030:
First timers will have a great time just be sure to get some instruction, they also do a lead follow so you can follow an instructor around the race course and get to know the driving line.

They only require that the car be track safe... No leaks, good tires, brakes etc...

Contact them if you have any questions but I think you will have a great time.
