FWIW, mine was just 93 octane pump gas. I even install JR engine oil cooler at the same time as the JRSC. And mine let go.

Either way there's no "easy" or cheap way to do it. You have to pull the motor, tear everything apart, and then reassemble the right way. The best thing to do is to do all this before the motor blows. If it is low mileage, we usually do a quick hone for a new ring sealing surface, deck the heads and engine cases, and that is enough for 99% of people up to 600 whp or so. Probably more, but that's as far as we have gone without closing the deck. Given that the cylinder wall thickness is pretty robust for an open deck motor, you may be able to get away higher without closing it...but that's a whole other conversation.

Most builds we see range from 5k in and out with a simple rebuild of a non-damaged motor, up to 11k if the cases are shot and heads are damaged. The price difference is pretty staggering, so the earlier you build it the cheaper it is in the long run. The only caveat is that if you're running under 275 whp, you'd be very unlucky to have the motor go. Even at low to mid 300's it is pretty rare.

R&R is removal and reinstallation?? That sounds like a super deal and I probably don't know what R&R is :bellyroll:

Remove and replace. You were close.

Sorry to hear that. How many miles on the motor when it popped and how much whp/tq? Any plans to rebuild?

Put C30 JRSC on 100k engine. Standard 50% increase in HP. Street tuned it with CSG. Yeah i calling around for quotes on swapping out to an IAG. Tried to call Xero this morning but didnt pick up.

Good plan. Let me know what the labor cost is. I was hoping to do an IAG swap for $10kish (including block) at some point. But when adding a clutch and that, it can add up.

You can get an IAG short block Stage 1. with all the good stuff all ready to go. Rated for 500HP.

I just got quoted by my shop $10-15k to install a short block. That seems high, no? Granted they do quality work, but damn.

I was 12 with everything including clutch, heads redone. Amazing motor. Headers and tune car is fantastic. Fantastic shop. You can get a stock shortblock for about 1,400 less. IMO spend the extra on IAG and be bulletproof

I am leaning towards IAG (sale right now, too). This quote was for labor only, so I would be about $20k all in with the block.

thats too much. 12 was a stretch. A rebuild from most shops is around 8 with a new stock shortblock. I’d look into a K24 conversion for that kind of money
