Seattle drivers are weird

On the way to work this morning I had quite an unusual experience. I was driving along 99S by Greenlake and some dude in an old black Nissan Pickup came up behind me real fast and proceeded to get in my bubble (3-5ft from my tail) and sit there. I pulled into the right lane at the first opportunity I had (probably about a quarter of a mile later) to let the guy pass and he pulls alongside me and proceeds to throw something at my car. It thudded off the left rear quarter and left a small dent and some scuff marks. I got his license plate. I'm not even mad, I just don't get what I did wrong or why I deserved to have something thrown at my car. What are my options going forward?

File a police report but it'll be your word against his without evidence. Time to invest in a dash cam.

That's kinda what I figured and also why I'm not seething with rage at the moment. Time to move along I suppose, so on a related note: does anyone know of good PDR services in the Seattle area? I may as well knock out a couple other dings in the left side of my car left by irresponsible Seattle drivers.

just curious about this though - if your dashcam is only front facing, how would it be evidence if an event happened in the back? I guess something major such as being rear ended would be obvious but for something that won't shake the car much and just make a sound (sound could be anything without vision), would it still be valid evidence?

I am not a police officer nor an attorney so I can't answer that one. I will say dash cams with an S (as in multiple) might help in the future.

I believe that would be circumstantial at best. The only good evidence would be from a witness or if the action itself was recorded.

Most of the erratic driving I see is from vehicles with Oregon plates. Stopping at green lights, etc. Hmm

I'm shooting front and back. I felt it only made sense and it was easy to setup.

I see a lot of left lane campers on I5 with Vancouver plates as well.

I actually prefer Oregon drivers. I go on vacation down there once a year and they're usually really great about not being in the left lane unless passing. Most Washington drivers suck at it :(

Most of the out of state plates are gawking at the scenery and going 10 under the posted speed.
Then they don't pull over to let the line behind them past.
Utah, Virginia, Texas and Oregon in the last week.
Next week: New York, Tennessee and Illinois. You'll see.

I live in jersey and people here just have no clue how to drive what so ever. No one follows the left lane to pass rule and if they do its only on the major highways that go cross country. I once saw a man in a audi cut a lady off that was in a bmw so obviously she got pissed. Caught up to him in the next lane, yelled at him and threw a bottle of some sorts straight into his car no probs going like 60 mph!
