Can verify that i had quite a few SR20's where the stupid pivot ball was an issue. IF we are upgrading to a new fork..might as well do both..

VerusEric 06-03-2016 03:18 PM

We'll start looking into doing the pivot as well, should be a relatively inexpensive piece in quantity. The forks will be coming out first though of course.

Units are nearing the finish line!

Thanks,
Eric

First article (un-coated). Took some photos off and on car, everything looks great. Minor tweak on the slot and we pulled the trigger on production.

I'll work on getting the units on the website so those that want to pre-order by a week or so, can.

Sorry guys, no group buy this time around. We'll look into doing one in the future though, when/if order quantities get a bit higher. They're on a 10% sale initially as well.

This might be pushing it, but when would you expect this to be released? And what material do you anticipate making them out of? Just wondering since I have some transmission work coming up towards the end of August, just trying to plan everything.

Sargy 06-13-2016 02:18 AM

Awesome!!! About to order mine as well

umpadupa 06-13-2016 05:57 PM

The pivot point I would expect to take about a month to have ready for purchase.

The fork is in my car and working great since Friday. No issues.

Thanks,
Eric

Mine was shipped this afternoon and should be in my possession on Wednesday! Glad to hear the pivot should be done in a month. Should work out perfectly, mwahahahahahaha.

I received my Velox fork. Its beautiful. Now hurry up and make the ball pivot so i can install my clutch. =)

VerusEric 06-26-2016 04:19 AM

As some of you may or may not know, we purchased ANSYS, a very powerful analysis software, a month or so ago. I finally sat down to learn how to do a simple stress analysis and can you guess which part it was on?!?!

We're currently out of stock but FT-86SpeedFactory is stocking the clutch fork now and has some in stock. I have another production run going currently as well as the strengthened pivot point.

Thanks,
Eric

Drakiv 06-26-2016 06:17 AM

@VeloxEric do you have a rough price estimate and or release date on the pivot?

Hopefully I don't get in trouble for this... Probably right around $25. I'd guess 2-3 more weeks.

VerusEric 07-12-2016 01:41 AM

After a brief stint of being out of stock, the clutch forks are back in stock with a small revision! Tiny finishing touch on a non-crucial loaded part with our emblem :party0030:.

http://i.imgur.com/jd3bb2X.jpg

The pivot point should be done at the machine shop this week. Those will be available shortly.

As far as feedback, we've heard from a multiple people that when they replaced their OEM unit with ours and it either A) Greatly improved clutch feel or B) Fixed the clutch completely where before it wouldn't disengage at times.

Thanks,
Eric

Great to hear! Thanks for everything you guys do over there!

pleong 07-12-2016 07:38 AM

Just installed mine yesterday since my transmission crapped out on me at the track sunday..

Sorry I didn't get any pictures... BUT... I have to say... the quality of this fork is superb! Fitment is spot on!

After doing all our checks we started up the car and it felt amazing, even just sitting in the car.. the clutch pedal felt COMPLETELY different, like a whole new clutch! I have an Exedy twin disc btw..

Before the clutch was super stiff and the engagement point was really low and small, meaning between the point of when it's off and engaging, it was probably about 1-1.5 inches.. so you really couldn't make a mistake if you wanted to take off smooth, you just kind of have to over rev so you don't stall out.. But now the engagement point is much higher and larger.. I probably have a good 2.5-3 inches, and the pedal actually doesn't feel as stiff! I wasn't expecting this at all especially since all I changed was the fork and the transmission. It's like having a new clutch, so I'm having to learn it again, but it's completely worth it!!!

I have to admit that my clutch kind of made it a pain to drive around town and sometimes made me not want to take it out to meets or just drive around.. man now I'm thinking maybe I don't need my new clutch master twin disc LOL it might just sit around for awhile now!

Thanks @VeloxEric for making an awesome product.. Something so simple, yet it changes the feel of driving completely!

SoCalArgento 07-12-2016 05:31 PM

How difficult is it to install both fork and pivot? Do I need to drop the transmission just as if installing new clutch?

Considering the throw out bearing rides on this, yes, the tranny will need to come out.

Drakiv 07-18-2016 08:00 PM

@VeloxEric how are the pivots coming along? I have my gear set install coming up next month on the 10th and was hoping that I could get this installed at the same time.

ichitaka05 07-18-2016 08:08 PM

So glad Velox picked up this project. I have few other upgrades in mind... but first, I gotta test drive kouki 86 & new BRZ to see if they fix the issue.

Also I'll be picking this up later on as well.

SPCorBUST 07-18-2016 08:31 PM

I am waiting for this as well

Pivot points should be in stock late this week. They shipped late last week from machine shop! I'll get them on the website ASAP and get FT-86SpeedFactory some as well.

Ordered Both Fork and Pivot Ball!

Drakiv 07-19-2016 07:23 PM

Just ordered the pivot, you guys once again have outdone yourselves.

Nitro22 07-20-2016 05:02 AM

Pivot ordered. Thank you for making these parts!

Calum 07-20-2016 07:18 AM

I find these reviews really curious. Is there a lot of flex in the OEM part? Could this be an upgrade for even a stock clutch?

weederr33 07-20-2016 11:07 AM

Just ordered me a Velox clutch fork!

Yes, that is our thoughts behind it. We've had a customer who couldn't disengage the clutch at all (FX500 I think?). Installed ours and the clutch operated again. Clutch fork showed zero signs of stress/bending/fatigue when he pulled it out.

I wouldn't go as far to say that it will improve a stock clutch, but it's plausible. I would, however, recommend this as a precautionary/preventative maintenance item for anyone installing a high-performance clutch though. No one really enjoys dropping or paying to have the transmission dropped.

Calling @The Racers Line for another testimonial as he just installed one and had to purchase another one immediately because it completely changed the way the clutch operates.

Thank you guys, we really appreciate the love and this project in general :).
Eric

johan 07-20-2016 12:51 PM

I've been curious about this too, as the clutch is probably the most numb driver interface in this car - shockingly so. If replacing the fork makes that big of a difference in how the clutch actuates, how it feels - it'd be an interesting experiment to find out how it changes a stock clutch. I know it'd likely be a subjective test, but it'd still be interesting.
