Mitsubishi Motors Corp admitted to manipulating test data to overstate the fuel economy of 625,000 cars sold in Japan, knocking its shares down more than 15 percent and wiping $1.2 billion off its market value on Wednesday.

i dunno about that i am always amazed mitsu is still around.

They never had a big presence here but they are huge around the rest of the world. Just their truck division alone could keep them afloat if they needed to.

Maybe gone from the car industry (doubt that) but deff. will not being going anywhere as a corporation. They have their fingers in to many different industries to be effected to much by this.

Or Hyundai/Kia? They did the same thing a few years ago.

And probably everybody else but they just haven't been caught yet. At least from the way things read Mitsu found it on their won and stepped up and said "look guys we done fucked up and we will come clean if we find more".

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if all the major companies when its convenient for them steps up to the plate to get their weenie slapped for this just so they can pat themselves on the back and said we did the right thing.
