P0010 CEL Code

Hey everyone!

So I finally bought an OBDII reader to clear my CEL code that I was fully expecting when I installed my new header (this is temporary until a few more parts are added on and I get it tuned). Funny thing is, not only am I getting a CEL for cat inefficiency, I am also getting a P0010 (Camshaft Position "A" Actuator Circuit (Bank 1)).

Just curious if this is something easy enough for me to fix on my own? I'm pretty new to cars. Or can anyone confirm that this isn't a bi-product of me modifying my exhaust? I still have my warranty so I can take it in to get fixed. Just don't want to look like a jag off if I bring it in and they tell me I fudged it up by installing the exhaust.

There isn't a whole lot of info on this on the internet surprisingly. I will probably jack up the car tomorrow to take a peak underneath just to be sure it isn't something stupid like a loose wire.

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks guys and gals!

No you shouldn't get that camshaft code.

That sounds like a camshaft actuator or OCV problem. Take it to dealer and get it looked at , don't clear the code. It not an easy fix and may require replacement of oil control valves camshaft sprockets/actuators/sensors ect

unless you damaged wiring or unplugged something besides the 02 sensors its nothing to do with exhaust install.

bit unusual on a 2015 model though so check the plugs are not dislodged from the cam actuators at front of motor.

Thank you so much for your response! I thought it was pretty unusual too. I think I must've bumped it when trying to rewire the O2 sensors as they were being pulled a little tight with this header. I will give it a look and if nothing stands out as being blatantly wrong, I will just take it to the dealer.

Thank you again!

Turns out, I'm an idiot! Probably should have at least poked my head under the hood before panicking and turning to the forums. I must've unplugged the sensor when rewiring the O2 sensors, because when I looked in there this morning, the plug was just dangling there.

Now I'm plugged back in, code cleared, and she is running like she used to! Thanks for helping though, lesson learned to not be a dumbass...

At least now I know where the plug is and what it does..
