Autocross Schedule for Maine (Cumberland Motor Club)

Hi all,

We have a great Autocross community up in Maine (http://www.cumberlandmotorclub.com). Low pressure, smaller venues than the likes of Devens, good guys and gals. There's also usually a smaller turnout than the big clubs so that == more runs. The club allows ride-alongs and offers instructors if you wish (loaner helmets available as well).

I know it conflicts with the Western, MA drive last week (sorry) but there's an event Sunday, July 8th in Portland. Most of the events are in the Portland area which is only a couple hours North of Boston. I'm planning on being there the 8th and am available for instructing. Here's the rest of the schedule: http://www.cumberlandmotorclub.com/AXSchedule

The FR-S / BRZ will run in stock trim in CS. CMC has a subclass called Tire for street tires (CS-T). This classing is becoming more popular so folks to have to go spend big $ on race tires (which for some silly reason ARE allowed in stock classes). On the national scene there's the new RTR class (road tire rwd... there's also RTF (fwd) and RTA (awd)). If you've already done some things like lowering / springs / intake / body kit you can run in STX

General Event Day Schedule
7am - 8am -- Arrive for Tech and Registration
9am -- Tech and Registration Closes
9:15 am -- Mandatory Driver’s Meeting
10am -- First vehicle on course
5pm -- Typical End of Day
What to bring:
You & your awesome car (duh)
Sun screen
Water / snacks
Tire pressure gauge, air pump if you have one (you can also borrow)
Helmet if you have one (various sizes available to loan out)
Torque wrench & socket if you have one to check your wheels (you can borrow too if needed).
That's the short list anyway... for those who just want to show up and :burnrubber:

Hope to see you all at an event so you can really learn what your car will do and learn it in a safe controlled manner. This will be my first autocross with my new baby and a return to RWD for me so I'm really excited to see what it will do!

Post if you have any questions!

Mike
