Driving to a dyno tune: Question
I'm getting tuned later this month. I live in Nashville but the shop is down near Atlanta. It's about a 4 hr drive there.
Question: Is it too risky of an idea to drive there? I am FI, currently E-tuned (but not happy with the tuning progress). The car seems to be running fairly well but there is a lot to be desired with the tune. It really needs an in-person full fledged dyno tune. I COULD trailer the car and haul it down there, but that'd be a much bigger pain than just driving it obviously. Either way I'm thinking about getting AAA just on the off chance something were to happen. (engine blows on dyno for example....how do I get home) The tuner (Doug from DBW motorsports, formerly from topspeed) said he wouldn't worry about it and it should be fine. He's tuned many FI 86's. Thanks for any input! |
If you are already e-tuned it should be no problem to drive down there especially if you are not driving hard on the way there.
Heard many good things about DBW. Good luck! |
yeah, if you have a base tune, it'll get you to the dyno.

Listen to the guy tuning your car. If he says it's good, it's good. He is the expert

No offense to mr Doug or the shop,
But are there no shops in Middle TN that can tune your car? |
